Noortje van Eekelen aims to develop design projects with a social character, in order to inform society and raise critical awareness about contemporary issues. She strongly guards the quality of the design process. In the realisation of her work a method is used which seeks to implement research in the design and the associated expressions. In addition, the projects are approached from a critical theory based method. This kind of design uses design fiction and speculative design proposals to challenge assumptions, and conceptions about current developments.
Noortje van Eekelen encourages collaborations, in which professionals from many different fields of knowledge are involved. Supported by a team of experts, she has been operating her design practice since 2009.
