The chair was originally designed to complement Wohlert’s architectural work on the Louisiana Museum of Modern Art in Humlebæk, Denmark. Simple, elegant and supremely functional, the Triangle chair showcases the Danish designer’s less-is-more ethos and talent for turning the structural into the sculptural. The revitalisation of the design by Stellar Works rightly restores the Triangle chairs position as a mid-century design masterpiece.

The Triangle Chair is a versatile lounge chair appropriate for both domestic and commercial uses, especially in living rooms and waiting areas. The chair is part of a collection of iconic designs by Vilhelm Wohlert reissued by Stellar Works which also include armchairs, stools and tables. The chair can be specified in different fabrics and finishes in addition to the model shown here, please enquire for more details.

Vilhelm Wohlert

A prolific architect and designer, Vilhelm Wohlert (1920–2007) trained, and later taught, at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen. Alongside his work designing and restoring churches and royal castles, he is especially celebrated for the design of the Louisiana Museum of Modern Art in Humbaek, Denmark, to which he and his partner Jørgen Bo devoted more than 30 years.
Wohlert’s furniture and lighting have become design icons, thanks to the way they often employ structural elements to create sculptural effects. He was inducted into the Order of the Dannebrog in recognition of his contribution to the Danish design tradition.

Stellar Works aspires to be a true global design brand with a genuine cross-cultural approach and mind-set. Our designs bridge the past and the present with an inspired eye for the future.
