TREASURE BOX is a beautiful, solid wood display shelf for showcasing your favourite things. So as not to steal the show from your collectibles, it is made of natural ash. It is available in two versions, with either six or seven compartments. Hand-made by craftspeople with disabilities, TREASURE BOX is created in the workshops of the Dominikus-Ringeisen-Werk in the convent of Maria Bildhausen. Mounted on a wall, the slight gap between the back of the shelf and the wall makes it appear to float. But TREASURE BOX is equally suitable for free-standing use. Either way, it is the perfect place for keeping little things that mean a lot.

James Irvine

From pen or pencil to city bus – the work of British-born James Irvine is notable for its functionally oriented clarity and its impressive versatility. After obtaining his diploma at the Royal College of Art in London he moved to Milan, where he was Design Consultant to the Olivetti design studio from 1984 to 1992. He developed other projects in parallel and established Studio Irvine in 1988. From 1993 to 1997 he was a partner in the Sottsass Associati team. James Irvine gained numerous awards; in 2004 he was appointed Royal Designer for Industry and in 2007 received an honorary doctorate in design from Kingston University. His list of leading international clients continued to grow; for the Expo 2000 held in Hanover in 2000, he designed a Mercedes-Benz Citaro city bus. Since James Irvine’s death in 2013, Studio Irvine’s successful work has been in the hands of his partner Marialaura Rossiello Irvine.
