With a clear composed form the design of the table Platz is rooted in the aesthetics of traditional work tables: a distinct diagonal bar guarantees high stability and underlines an informal work approach.
The Platz table is made of solid European oak and is available in seven lengths and three heights, further allowing for diverse applications in a work or dining context. The frame is mortised with visible solid wood dowels, emphasising the construction detail and wood surface of the table.
Since 1969, Jörg Schellmann has been producing and publishing contemporary fine art editions by international artists like Joseph Beuys, Bernd and Hilla Becher, Liam Gillik, Donald Judd, Andy Warhol and many more with Edition Schellmann in Munich and New York. Resulting from his deep interest and competence in the fields of art and design, Jörg Schellmann has also been developing his own furniture since 2006. The designs are influenced by industrial and commercial principles at the same time and are references to Minimal Art and Conceptualism. Jörg Schellmann creates aesthetic products of radical simplicity, understanding functionality as a matter of course.
For e15, Jörg Schellmann developed the table PLATZ, the bench SITZ as well as the shelf PROFIL, which perfectly complement the e15 collection due to their subtle and reduced composition.
e15 stands for consistent, progressive design coupled with high-grade materials and innovative, handcrafted production methods.
