Designed by Hee Welling, SMILE LOUNGE is a classic yet modern chair created to be quietly elegant.
Following an extensive study of ‘lounge’ activities, the chair is designed to support the postures of the modern workplace setting. The seat, back and front can be upholstered in different fabrics with a contrast stitching (creating the ‘smile’ line at the meeting of fabrics), allowing for endless opportunities to create a design to suit your chosen space supported by great comfort from a high-density PUR foam.The result is a playful look with organic curves contrasted by tight, classic lines. Smile is available in a wood or steel frame with upholstery in leather, lush velvet and a wide variety of fabrics.
Hee Welling
Hee Welling is a Danish designer educated at the University of Art and Design in Helsinki, Finland and the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts. He established his own studio in Copenhagen in 2003 and works within the fields of furniture, interior and industrial design. His work has been awarded several prizes, including – the Bo Bedre Design Award (Denmark), the Good Design Award (USA), the New Danish Art Foundation (Denmark) and he has been nominated Danish Designer of the Year 2013 by the Danish magazine – Boligmagasinet.
