He has carried out research and documentation activities in Russia, Iceland, South Africa, New Zealand, Scandinavia, the Americas, Europe and China.
He has carried out industrial design activities and acted as consultant on “metaprojects”: the meaning of things and innovation in processes, objects and communication.
He has received international prizes and mentions as a designer (DesignPlus2007, ADI Index 2004/2006/2007) and as a director (Montreal, Varese and Lisbon festivals).
In 2006 he designed the stage sets and directed the play "Made in Italy" by and with Vincenzo Cerami, with music by Nicholas Piovani, a production for the Mantua Festival of Literature, which gives a history of Italy from the post -war period to today through design, objects and plans. Over the years he has produced installations on the topics of nature, water, architecture and light. At the Salone del Mobile (Furniture Trade Fair) in Milan in 2007 he was the author of the terratre installation with Guzzini and was assistant partner and co-curator, with Piero Castiglioni, Michele De Lucchi and Denis Santachiara, of the “All you need is Light” exhibition at the Triennale. He has organized exhibitions and conventions all over the world and has been part of international juries for design and film competitions. He works in various universities as an external lecturer and visiting professor on matters related to industrial design.
Since 1998 he has run an international research and documentation project on the development of architecture and design, interviewing major global designers and documenting new buildings and urban projects throughout the world. In 2007 he was the first western film director authorized to enter North Korea with a film crew and cameras. He has two sons and after traveling so much he decided to settle in Fano, a small city of the Marche, an Italian region of extraordinary vitality and gentle landscapes. In the industrial design field, with Stefano Ragaini, he has built the ADhoc Archeating brand and designed several radiators and heating appliances. He works on integrated design projects with the companies of the Ragaini Group, with Guzzini, the Loccioni Group, Scavolini, ErnestoMeda and IFI S.p.A. He is working with BolognaFiere on the re-design of its corporate communications and for fairs like SAIE, SANA and SaieSpring.
