Aldo Ciabatti
He graduated in 1956 from the Margaritone Institute in Arezzo. He has been studying marketing since 1964, while designing armchairs, sofas, chairs and tables. He removes any frills or anything that doesn’t add value to the object. These particular details make his creations recognisable and raise their profile. Ikea has sold them since 1977, while Bonaldo has been making them since the 1980s and Emu since 1994.
Emu began in 1951 in Marsciano, Umbria, and during the 60s found its natural vocation in the manufacture of outdoor furniture, in which it could best express the technology, cultural heritage and local know-how gained from experience of working with metal.
