The Mater Ray Lamps are a stunning new lighting series, combining oak and steel in a beautifully innovative contrast.
Designed by Danish design studio PEDERJESSEN, The Ray collection has a strong aesthetic reference to Nordic minimalism and materials, yet utilises low energy. The wooden globe shade is mounted inside the steel shell with magnets so that the user can position the beam of light in any direction. Ray’s outer shell is constructed in steel, with wooden inner globe housing, and textile-covered cord. Ray is available as a table lamp, a wall lamp and pendant light in black or white.
Pederjessen
PEDERJESSEN design studio is established in 2015 by Søren Pedersen and Lasse Jessen (left), both with a background as industrial design engineers from University of Southern Denmark. Within furniture and lighting they are known for having a holistic approach to product development, always looking to experiment with new technologies and materials. The main ambition is to design functional and aesthetically durable products – on the basis of a combined traditionally and contemporary approach.
