Inspired by the geometric aesthetics of ancient artefacts found on the Cyclades islands in the Aegean Sea.
Designed by Valentino Marengo
Our production department, in collaboration with Italian designer Valentino Marengo works with a unique raw material named GFRC (Glass Fiber Reinforced Concrete), produced and imported from Italy.
GFRC is similar to chopped fiberglass (the kind used to form boat hulls and other complex three-dimensional shapes), although much weaker. It’s made by combining a mixture of fine sand, cement, polymer (usually an acrylic polymer), water, other admixtures and alkali-resistant (AR) glass fibers. The many benefits of GFRC include the ability to construct lightweight elements - Although the relative density is similar to concrete, GFRC can be much thinner than traditional concrete , making the constructions lighter.
All of our products are handmade by our trained and specialised team of artisans in Athens, using a casting process.
