Ancient houses used to be full of many helpful small objects.

For putting ashes rather than for sewing, to serve rather than to expose: they punctuated dwelling spaces. Giuseppe Chigiotti, by designing “ping”, thinks back to those times now passed, and creates a “servante” declined in two versions: ping i, characterized by the function of empty pockets, and ping ii, discrete surface for a glass or a book.

Indoor use only.

Giuseppe Chigiotti

Giuseppe Chigiotti, architect, is currently associate professor at the politecnico in Milan, where he teaches theory and history of industrial design. As a historian, he’s author of numerous books and essays on the theory and history of design and architecture, with a particular interest in the projecting furniture and objects for domestic spaces. At the same time to teaching and researching in universities, he works as a designer. He also collaborated with the publishing initiatives of driade by writing lyrics for "manuals of furnishing " and was author of " a journey trough driade living" as well as co-author, with adelaide acerbi, of the world of objects". For driade he designed a collection of tableware, identifying forgotten types and lost manufactures. He faced, always for driade and with the same attitude, the projects of lamps grape, armchair and sofa hoff, “tables” ping and mak, which all arise from a deep attention to the ways of modern living.

driade is an aesthetic lab in continuous search for beauty in living space.
