Penne combines the spirit of Scandinavian chair design with the requirements of the modern contract furniture market.
In accordance with the Lammhults design tradition, the chair was intended as an iconic piece of furniture and a real industrial product at the same time. Penne is the world’s first chair made of laminated wooden tubes. The Penne chair has its hallmark both in material innovation and in aesthetics. Craftsmanship and technology meet in a unique concept.
The collaboration of Julia Läufer and Marcus Keichel with Lammhults started in 2014. Julia and Marcus were invited by Lammhults to work on two different projects. The result of an intense and fruitful collaboration was APERI and PENNE in 2016.
Since our beginnings in 1945 in the small town of Lammhult in southern Sweden, Lammhults has adhered to the principles of the Modern Movement instilled in the company by our founder Edvin Ståhl.
