An optical illusion of geometrical shapes caught in a balancing act mid-air.
Add a dinner party conversation-starter to your table with Optical Candle Holder. By a feat of optical illusion, its geometrical shapes appear to be caught in a balancing act mid-air. Inspired by creative experiments with geometry at the legendary Bauhaus school, the candle holder is made out of powder coated steel and has a matte coating.
Designers Jonas Ravlo Stokke and Øystein Austad established their Oslo design studio in 2007 after both receiving Master degrees in industrial design from the Oslo School of Architecture and Design in Norway. Today they work in the fields of industrial design, interiors and furniture design. At Menu, we’re fans of the striking, zen-like simplicity of their products, stripped of unnecessary clutter. Away from work, Jonas and Øystein spend their spare time in their cabin in the mountains: “Last winter we hacked a hole in the ice and went ice bathing. It was devastatingly cold, but extremely refreshing!”
