David Geckeler
David Geckeler studied industrial design in Berlin and Copenhagen. Currently he is exploring the wider area of industrial design; focusing on furniture, interior, tableware & lighting. His chair design NERD was honoured by Beckers International Design Award 2011 and is the winner of the Muuto Talent Award 2012.
David Geckeler On His Design Philosophy:
“My way of design is affected by an attentive and analytical view on the environment. The principles I'd like in my objects are simplicity, detail-orientation and a pinch of courageous design language. The excitement during the creation process goes along with a wish for a sensible interaction between the future owner and the object. To me, after a first impression, it is the long-standing fascination for an object or product that consitutes good design.”

In fact, our name Muuto, inspired by the Finnish word muutos, means new perspective.
