Nigel Coates widens his furnishing proposal for Wiener GTV Design by introducing in his collection an extremely original element: the Lehnstuhl-Hocker footrest fit with elegance and nonchalance the spaces of the house devoted to relaxation.
The bent beech structure recalls Lehnstuhl’s lines, designed by the English designer, using its woven cane wide-mesh version for the footrest.

is an English architect and designer. Its mission is to merge art and intelligence with architecture and design. Regardless of space or object, Coates interprets it with passion, irony and spontaneity. After graduating from the Architectural Association, he immediately demonstrated his genius in the field of architecture.
His narrative philosophy translates into construction, interior design and exhibitions around the world, especially in the United Kingdom and Japan.
His experimental works have been exhibited both in artistic and design contexts, as in the case of the ArkAlbion exhibitions in 1984 and Ecstacity in 1992 at the Architectural Association, Mixtacity in 2007 at the Tate Modern and Hypnerotosphere in 2008 at the Venice Architecture Biennale .
The production of Coates is internationally recognized and significant examples of his work are present in the collections of various museums, such as the Victoria & Albert Museum in London and the FRAC of Orleans.
Recently he has focused on furnishing design and lighting systems; collaborates with many Italian companies, including Alessi, Fratelli Boffi, Poltronova and Slamp.
