With LADDER, Charlie Styrbjörn Nilsson uses the technique of steam-Bent Wood to create an interior staircase in which the solidity of solid wood gives body to a slender and light structure where the pegs, characterized by a rounded line on one side, follow one another in mirror image and define the direction of the climb.
Ladder is a versatile complement, able to reinvent space with its unexpected presence, lending itself to multiple uses both in the living area and in the bedroom: a support point for hanging or applying the various accessories, a decorative element that does not excludes practicality.
After a studio as a cabinetmaker, Charlie Styrbjörn Nilsson graduated in furniture design at the Carl Malmsten Institute - Furniture Studies in Stockholm in 2012. Since then he works as an independent designer in Gothenburg.
To develop its products it is very often inspired by industrial and manufacturing processes, and finds its balance in its interest in biology.
Born in 1986 in Sweden, Charlie grew up in a family of Swedish and English nationality.
