The JAMAKHAN Cross cushion is inspired by Bhavani ‘Jamakkalams’, the colourful, graphic and often oversized floor-coverings used in homes and at weddings and public events in and around the region of Tamil Nadu in southern India. Our contemporary take on this original and iconic textile was created in collaboration with textile designer Sagarika Sundaram and features a simple four-square pattern in ivory and navy blue. Hand-woven out of high-grade Erode cotton, the Jamakhan cushion is hand-dyed for a softer fade-proof finish.

JAMAKHAN is a collection of hand-woven rugs and cushions inspired by Bhavani ‘Jamakkalams’, the colourful, graphic and often oversized floor-coverings used in homes and at weddings and public events in and around the region of Tamil Nadu in southern India. The patterns for the JAMAKHAN collection were designed by Indian textile designer Sagarika Sundaram in collaboration with Tiipoi and hand-woven in the small town of Bhavani in the Erode district of Tamil Nadu. Our contemporary take on this original and iconic textile features striking horizontal lines of varying widths and a rich use of colour.
