The Heaven round table consists of an 8mm thick toughened glass top and a painted pre-galvanised tubular steel structure, where the central base motif is reinterpreted through 96 pre-galvanised steel bars, interwoven and welded in 672 spots. Size: Ø 120 x H 75 cm
The idea underlying the Heaven project is that of lightness derived from forms emerging from hollow spaces bordered by interweaving lines. The thin, woven steel frame is the distinctive feature of a collection marked by well-proportioned lines and overall harmony. Steel chairs paired with transparent glass tops lighten the table surfaces, lending them an intangible quality. The harmonious and sophisticated shapes of the Heaven range of furniture give the impression of unconventional elegance.
Graduated from the ENSCI in 1990, Jean-Marie Massaud has run a quest for synthesis, reduction and lightness since his first intuitions. He has been working all kind of design fields, from furniture to industrial product and equipment. In 2000, he founds Studio Massaud and expands his expertise to architecture and brand development.
He collaborates with various brands such as Emu, B&B Italia, Axor Hansgrohe, Dior, Poltrona Frau, Lancôme or Renault. Denying trend and fashion, Jean Marie prefers questioning the existing, working out on progress and eventually proposing answers to contemporary stakes. It is this symbiosis between Man, his creations and his natural environment, that Jean Marie Massaud strives to reach, as a catalyst to innovation, as an economic model and as a life project.
Emu began in 1951 in Marsciano, Umbria, and during the 60s found its natural vocation in the manufacture of outdoor furniture, in which it could best express the technology, cultural heritage and local know-how gained from experience of working with metal.
