The GRAIN lamp brings a new perspective to the pendant lamp genre by combining a classic minimalistic design with the use of innovative new materials. The original composite used in the lamp’s construction adds an unexpected softness and warmth to GRAIN, giving its simple form lots of character. Small grains of fiber in the lamp’s material bring subtle changes in colour and shade. The lamp is equipped with a high quality LED light bulb that lasts for up to 10.000 hours. LED light bulbs save energy resources whilst reflecting a natural light with a warm glow. JENS FAGER ON THE DESIGN “GRAIN is a versatile, environmentally friendly pendant lamp with a warm and welcoming appearance that provides a great quality light. Interesting details such as the profiled edge and hidden chord lock give GRAIN plenty of character despite its simple iconic shape. The lamp’s refined matt surface from a specially created mix of bamboo grain and plastic composite adds a new perspective to the lamp’s look and feel. You can actually see the natural stains and patterns of the material’s structure in it.”

JENS FAGER'S DESIGN PHILOSOPHY
“Everything is different. The core of my philosophy that permeates all is to treat every single product in an honest way and to find their main function. Secondly I always want a sense of humour, surrealism or poetry in my work. The end result is a natural product for the consumer.”
JENS FAGER ON NEW NORDIC DESIGN
“The strength of Nordic design is a natural learning and understanding of everyday needs. During the summer we need the functional carafe for serving chilled lemonade and in wintertime we need a cosy lamp. The strength of Nordic designers are that they have a critical eye for aesthetics and do not leave much to randomness. This brings beauty to the products.”
