Dutch industrial design at its best. The chair was designed in the late 50’s, early 60’s, and produced by Galvanitas in Oosterhout, Netherlands. The S16 was specially designed for heavy use in public buildings, including schools, institutions and canteens. The design is characterized by the so typical passer legs. Instead of the conventional tubular structure, the designer chose a frame made of folded plate steel. The S16 is ideal for use in bar or restaurant, but certainly also an eye catcher in a residential interior. Effective, beautiful and practical. Material Pressed steel not only provides the characteristic shape to the chair, but also highlights the benefits: strong, lightweight and user friendly, all in all ideal for use in the hospitality industry. The seat and backrest are manufactured from PAG wood, a highly innovative product of its time, which still meets all the requirements of today. A thin layer of wood and synthetic resin is pressed to form an incredibly strong layer. A nearly transparent plastic layer coats the wood. This brings out the gorgeous colour and further boosts durability. The frame has an extra strong powder coating. Colours We offer the frame in a range of coloured powder coatings. Additionally, the seat and back rest come in PAG wood in black, white or four transparent shades. Or in Plywood, with an unlimited variety of colours.
