Finn – a range with a distinctive corner joint. Girsberger presents a distinctive steel structure from the 1970s which has now been redesigned as a chair, stool and table. Finn's special corner joint acts as both a construction and a design feature. The range has been designed by Alexander Rehn. Swiss furniture manufacturer Girsberger will be presenting a new product family called Finn at Designers’ Saturday in Langenthal. Alexander Rehn, a young designer from Munich, took a striking steel structure from the 1970s and gave it a new twist. Finn's special corner joint acts as both a construction and a design feature. The idea for the corner joint construction that joins the chair legs to the seat originally came from Swiss designer Bruno Rey. After more than forty years, Alexander Rehn has now reinterpreted this idea. What's more, with Finn he has succeeded in applying this construction principle not only to a chair, but also to a matching table. The result is a range of chairs and tables that forms a congenial whole right from the first glance. "The new connectors join the seat and legs of the chair in a way that creates a shadow gap", says Alexander Rehn regarding Finn's design. "It gives you the impression that the seat is floating. Its clean lines and bevelled edges emphasize the furniture's lightness and give it a modern look." Finn is made from beech and is available in its natural tone and various coloured wood stains. The seat and the back of the chair are also available in an upholstered version. The table comes in various sizes.
