Tribeca lamps are a retro-chic piece of art.
The Tribeca series is a mix of lamps, pendants and chandeliers, inspired by New York in the 1930s. The Tribeca series of lamps started with a classic American road trip. Danish designer Søren Rose travelled across the US collecting lamps from the early to mid 20th century. He took his cache back to the studio in New York, dismantled and reassembled them, mixing and matching lamps.
Søren Rose Studio
Multi-talented Danish designer Søren Rose started his career as an entrepreneur and creative director – setting up one of Scandinavia’s most successful web companies, among other enterprises. In 2008, he fulfilled a life-long dream by opening a design studio in New York. Today, he is one of New York’s most in-demand designers, with an outpost in Copenhagen.
The studio famously operates a no-hierarchy rule. “If a junior designer has the best idea that’s what we go with,” Søren explains. “As a studio, we worship at the altar of quality and sustainable materials.”
