DINA bar stool honours the hard work of those who have tamed the land of the oldest wine region in the world – the Douro Valley, in Portugal. Its structure is inspired by the delicate outlines of the slopes and the seat refers to wine and grapes that generate the renowned Porto Wine.DINA is now a chair and a barstool. DINA is even more elegant and flexible but the story remains the same. DINA is made in Portugal and now offers much more flexibility to the projects. The chair is suitable for dining tables. The bar stool suits workplaces and bars. The lower backrest makes it perfect for relaxed lounging. Intended to be sustainable and long-lasting, DINA uses traditional techniques combined with precise technology and tools. Available in ash, oak, and walnut, and also in dark or light cork, it celebrates nature and makes a graceful addition to eco-friendly environments. More about the cork seat: The cork seat was designed with a meticulous and detailed process to create a balance between density and resistance. So, the cork used is neither too hard nor too flexible. With practically unlimited durability, the cork differs from an environmental point of view. The cork is harvested every nine years from the cork oak, without cutting down its trunk, it is 100% natural, biodegradable and recyclable material. The cork oak is the only tree whose bark is self-regenerating and can be harvested about 17 times over 200 years. Extracting cork is a key contribution to the ecological sustainability of the Mediterranean region and does not cause any damage to the environment. This material is a great solution for spaces with specific thermal and acoustic characteristics. It also makes the seat light and non-slip. It is resistant to abrasion and impact and it is flame retardant. It supports temperatures between -180 ºC and +120 ºC and in case of fire it does not release toxic gases. Cork preserves all these characteristics throughout its life. Besides this, the cork seat is finished with a colorless aqueous coating with properties of water repellency, oil, stains, and dirt as well as high resistance to UV and aging. This also keeps the natural characteristics of the cork (touch, tonality, and breathability). Please note that there is a minimum order of 30 units. Made in Portugal.
