Martin Solem

Martin Solem (born in 1985) is a Norwegian designer with a studio in Copenhagen. Inspired by the classic design of the Danish, he moved to Denmark where he began working for Rud Rasmussen (one of the oldest cabinet makers still operating). In 2007 he decided to take a design course and was accepted at the Royal Danish Design School. He was very successful in his studies, and has exhibited his work in cities like Paris, London, Cologne, Stockholm and Oslo. Martin describes his work in this way: “as a designer, I try to always be innovative, for me a product has to be realistic and useful to be considered a good design. What I look to do is combine these fundamental thoughts with innovative ideas”.

Cappellini faced the new millennium inextricably linked to the world of images, exploration and research.
