The result is a sort of modern functionalist and rationalist Bauhaus that reveals a peculiar innovation in the technologies available in the industrial production of this type of seating. The narrow radius of curvature of the metal tube has allowed us to create a highly distinctive and very personal design alphabet that characterizes the debut of the Cuba collection previewed in these days, which will be capable, without any doubt, of writing many other interesting stories in the world of design for the public and the residential markets”. Cuba is a family of seats in steel and polypropylene made using the injected air-mouldingtechnology, born for the public market. Simple and sober lines lend Cuba a universal character, suitable for any context, indoor and outdoor. Steel twists and turns as a frame around the seat, with a non-usual technique of metal folding.
Marc Sadler
One of the first graduates in “esthétique industrielle” at the ENSAD in Paris with a thesis on plastics, he was a pioneer in experimentation on the different materials and contamination between technologies, which have become distinctive aspects of his work. At the beginning of the seventies, he’s perfected the first ski-boot in thermoplastic material completely recyclable, subsequently commercialized by the Italian firm Caber. Today, thanks to his eclecticism, he’s a consultant for a wide range of industry companies. Awarded 4 times with the Compasso d’Oro by ADI, the Industrial Design Association, (1994, 2001, 2008 e 2014) his work has won many international design awards over the years.
