The Cover Bar & Counter Stool sprung from a desire to bring a modern perspective to the traditional wooden bar seat.
I wanted for it to have a crisp and contemporary expression through its light plywood material, paired with the solid and grounded sentiment of its frame and base in solid wood. With its tall and curved backrest that folds gently around the frame alongside the warmth of its wooden materiality, the Cover Bar & Counter Stool has the comfort required for people to be seated for hours on end while translating the ideas of Scandinavian craftsmanship into a modern design language.

THOMAS BENTZEN'S DESIGN PHILOSOPHY
“I like to create objects that are functional and simple and meet the human need while in use - and simply create joy while not. For me durability means quality, form and functionality. And putting an immense amount of energy into making virtues out of necessities.”
THOMAS BENTZEN ON NEW NORDIC DESIGN
“To me Scandinavian design has always been about honesty and functionality composed with poetry. I like it that way. And I think Scandinavian designers have succeeded in bringing their heritage into a time where we no longer stand next to the cabinetmaker, but are challenged and thrilled by new materials and new ways to produce.”
