CIRQUE – vibrant design, exuberant colours
Louis Poulsen is launching a new series of lamps with a difference – a series created in cooperation with the Swedish designer and graphic artist Clara von Zweigbergk.
“I don’t mind at all if – sitting in their kitchens – people look up and start thinking hot-air balloons and carousels,” says Clara von Zweigbergk when asked to describe her new lamp series.
Named CIRQUE, the series was developed in cooperation with Louis Poulsen, inspired by a trip to Tivoli in Copenhagen. Tivoli is full of whirls and twirls – carousels, candyfloss makers and wheels of fortune. When an object spins round very fast, the colours merge and end up being perceived as horizontal bands of colour. All these impressions resulted in a vibrant design which unites unconventional colours and forms in a series of truly innovative lamps which will add both edge and charisma to their surroundings – both in daylight and when lit.
The new lamp series is equally suited for restaurants and bars, kitchens and dining rooms. A diffuse, downward light is reflected from the matt, white inside of the lamp, which is glare-free when hung at normal height.
CIRQUE is available in three colour combinations and in three sizes: Ø150 mm, Ø220 mm and Ø380 mm. Featuring an E27 light fitting, the lamps can be used with the whole range of LED light sources currently available, allowing complete freedom to choose the light source guaranteeing the best colour rendering and light temperature in the room.
CIRQUE is available in three unconventional colour combinations – one extremely colourful and the other two slightly more subdued. When hung individually, the CIRQUE lamps will add a dash of colour to any room, while the ultimate decorative effect is achieved by suspending clusters of CIRQUE lamps together as a creatively integrated element in the interior design.
Made of aluminium, CIRQUE is a robust lamp designed for use in kitchens, children’s bedrooms, bars and restaurants. Due to its direct downward light distribution, it is particularly suited for suspending low above tables or as low-hanging groups in a corner. CIRQUE is easy to clean, decorative when not lit and provides extremely atmospheric lighting when lit.
CIRQUE is lighting with a colourful difference.
