Staying true to a London Brick familiar ‘frogged’ form while re-imagining its function, we have designed a sleek ceramic vase, multipurpose in use and a striking feature to add to any interior space.
Regarded throughout history as one of the strongest and most enduring building materials, it is typically seen stacked together and embedded within the permanent structures it supports. A staple of urban life, this timeless building block is rarely given a platform of its own.
Handmade in England
StolenForm works with a variety of skilled mould makers and ceramists based in the heart of the English Midlands, a region steeped in a history of craftsmanship. Each item is individually handmade with precision using traditional mould making and slip-casting techniques.
The clay used in production is a smooth white earthenware body, which is fired at 1120 degrees centigrade, transforming the material into a rigid and hardwearing ceramic state. A variety of transparent or colour glaze is then sprayed onto the surface of the product, achieving a consistency of coverage that rivals alternative pouring techniques.
StolenForm is part of an every growing movement to revive England's once thriving ceramic design industry, championing the unique traditions of the practice and bringing them into vibrant contemporary context.
