The unbearable lightness of glass.
Blimp is a stunning, massive crystal cloud that seemingly floats in space. Amazed by the skills of the Bomma master-glassmakers, Big-Game designed the Blimp lamp – in the largest size that can be blown into a mold – at once monumental and airy. As individual pieces are nearly a meter high, the production of this monumental lighting is literally on the edge of both technical and human possibility.
The designers made certain to stress the delicacy of Bohemian crystal craftsmanship and created an entire Blimp family for Bomma. Aside from the three sizes of pendant lighting, they added a table and floor version and a wall or ceiling light. Its amber coloration brings a warm, ambient feeling into any interior. To emphasize the extraordinary quality of Czech crystal, Blimp also comes in a pure crystal version.
The Blimp collection is only part of the news from Bomma at this year’s Euroluce. Aside from the Blimp collection, Bomma launches three additional and brand new collections, while expanding the popular Tim, Phenomena, Umbra and Orbital series.
