Aldo Ciabatti
He graduated in 1956 from the Margaritone Institute in Arezzo. He has been studying marketing since 1964, while designing armchairs, sofas, chairs and tables. He is a visionary and believes in the business. He is confident that you can achieve challenging objectives that go beyond profit. His products come from research combined with brilliant intuition. Simplicity and diversity become concepts since they are applied to normality. His design and creativity process brings out the strong personality that makes his products so recognisable. A product must meet real needs, it must be exciting and does not necessarily have to follow the latest fashions. Ciabatti seeks essence, form and harmony. He removes any frills or anything that doesn’t add value to the object. These particular details make his creations recognisable and raise their profile. His best qualities can be seen in his intuition, simplicity, generosity, modesty and humility. His products are simple, essential and long-lasting. Ikea has sold them since 1977, while Bonaldo has been making them since the 1980s and Emu since 1994.
Emu began in 1951 in Marsciano, Umbria, and during the 60s found its natural vocation in the manufacture of outdoor furniture, in which it could best express the technology, cultural heritage and local know-how gained from experience of working with metal.
