Inspired by Japanese carpentry, table AS HIDA emphasises e15’s philosophy of pure use of materials and balanced proportions to make a highly functional table for private or contract spaces.
Ashida showcases the natural beauty and strength of solid wood and is available in white pigmented or oiled European oak and walnut. With its two central brackets, it is ideally suited as a conference table with concealed wire management. ASHIDA is offered in 2200 MM (86 5/8 inch), 2700 MM (106 1/4 inch) and 3300 MM (129 7/8 inch), allowing for up to six, eight or ten people.
Born in Germany, Philipp Mainzer studied product design at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design, and architecture at the Architectural Association both in London. In 1995, Philipp Mainzer co-founded the modern furniture brand e15. Having established the progressive, enduring philosophy and unique branding of e15, he has received international awards for many of his designs, which are identifying icons for e15 and part of several permanent exhibitions in museums.
Parallel to the creation of e15, Philipp Mainzer practiced architecture in New York and continues to do so since his return to Germany in 2001. He is a member of the executive committee of German Design Council and regularly gives lectures on architecture, design and branding. Philipp Mainzer is creative and managing director of e15 and his architecture office Philipp Mainzer Office for Architecture and Design.
