POLIA, a book of light Reminiscent of the pages of a book moved by the wind, which emit an intense and unexpected light.

Sober lines and colours for Polia, the extremely original Axo Light wall light that brings character to living spaces. Polia, whose name is inspired by the nymph that leads Poliphilo in his wandering dreams in the book Hypnerotomachia Poliphili (Poliphilos Strife of Love in a Dream) by Francesco Colonna, represents this fantastic book – an emblem of Italian Renaissance tradition – in material form. The light is a fascinating bundle of papers that curve forward, almost as if to ‘donate’ the light that they contain.

Vertical or horizontal, alone or in pairs, the Polia collection adapts to both public or private environments, in bedrooms and living areas. Materials: curved, varnished metal sheets Light source: linear halogen energy saving lightbulbs Colours and finishes: textured white, cor-ten, white with a front section in basalt grey Size: 45 cm width x 28 cm height and 9 cm depth or 19 cm width x 28 cm height and 9 cm depth. Polia conforms to US ADA regulations.

Manuel Vivian

Born in Venice in 1971, Manuel Vivian obtained his diploma at the Venice Art Institute and began to design at a very young age, blown glass in particular, thanks also to his family business. Since the creation of Axo Light in 1996, he has collaborated constantly with the company and has become one of the main designers.

Manuel designed for Axolight some of the most famous collections, such as Bell, Skin, Skirt, Aura, Clavius, Spillray, Fairy, Virtus, Polia LED, Framework LED and many others.
