Air is a sideboard for the centre of the room and news for 2019 is that the Air-family has been extended with two new members, the low sideboard and the cabinet.
It combines a graphic pattern of ribs with natural cane inlays that gives a feeling of lightness and transparency. Air can be used a freestanding room divider or placed against a wall. The new sideboard low is suitable for home audio and TV. All your audio equipment will easily be stored inside the sideboard and hence the smart cable outlet, the cables will be managed in the back to avoid a messy look. The cabinet on high legs is an elegant piece of furniture that is easily placed in any room.
Mathieu Gustafsson has his roots both in Paris and in the Swedish province of Småland – the heart of the Swedish furniture industry. It is from differences and similarities between the two cultures that Mathieu fetches much of his inspiration in a creative process that, as far as he is concerned, often starts with becoming aware of a need or a way of behaving rather than with an object as such. Professionally, Mathieu has a background in graphic design, furniture making and furniture design and he currently runs a design studio at leading Swedish architectural practice Tengbom, focusing on furniture and industrial design. He is also creative director for furniture manufacturer Grand.
Swedish furniture brand Design House Stockholm uses soft tones and playful shapes that result in a light-hearted collection with a sense humour.
