The tactile appearance of JEWEL designed by Saskia Diez reflects the aesthetics and design language of e15, featuring the pure use of material, simplicity and function.
Each of the three shaped pieces has different interior partitions which lend itself beautifully to the storing of precious jewellery. The top sheath finishes with a closing top. The reduced design of AC02 JEWEL is in line with the aesthetics and design language of e15 and emphasises the used material.
After completing her training as a goldsmith, Munich-based designer Saskia Diez decided to study industrial design and later worked for several design studios, including Rosenthal and Konstantin Grcic, before setting up her own studio. A coincidence led her back to jewellery design but her informal, reduced pieces clearly convey her perspective of design. With their clarity and intelligent simplicity, her designs are truly captivating, playing with tradition and modernity, citing the “zeitgeist” without being trendy. In addition to her unique jewellery designs, Saskia Diez is also known for her travel bag “Papier” for which she received the German Design Prize 2010.
