Wittmann - Miles side table
Sebastian Herkner uses bundle of rods as table base
German designer Sebastian Herkner has created a table that stands on a single column made up of individual rods for Austrian furniture brand Wittman.
The Miles coffee table has a circular marble surface poised on top of a tight bundle of metal rods that looks like a classical column with a deeply ribbed surface from afar. Up close, you can see the individual rods are fixed into a circular metal base plate that’s wider than the column and echoes the shape of the surface above.
The column comes in either golden or black metal, or you can have the individual rods wrapped in leather and combined with a metal base. The table comes in two sizes and you can choose between black or white marble for the surface.
The Miles collection also includes a sofa and a lounge chair, with the same piped leather detailing running around the seat as Sebastian’s Merwyn collection for Wittmann.
