valerie_objects - Ceiling lamp no1/2/3

valerie_objects makes light out of plumping pipe

Belgian studio Muller Van Severen has designed a simple ceiling lamp out of a plumbing pipe capped with a glass shade for furniture brand valerie_objects.

The slender, hollow pipe is fixed to the ceiling with brass brackets, and extends along before dropping down to the shallow clear glass shade that adds some width to the fixture. It comes in three sizes, called n°1, 2 and 3, and is available in brass or black powder coated steel, both with brass brackets. This is an extension to the original collection designed in 2011 including a floor and hanging lamp.

The lighting collection’s style is typical of what designers Fien Muller and Hannes Van Severen are known for. They make furniture using straight lines and frames to play on the relationship between objects, linking lounge chairs with shelving units and adding lights to the top of table legs.

The director of valerie objects, Veerle Wenes, owns an art gallery in Antwerp. Her gallery held the first exhibition with Muller Van Severen’s work in 2011, and valerie_objects has been the exclusive manufacturer for the Belgian studio ever since.
