Tacchini - Pastilles collection
Studiopepe designs furniture inspired by childhood sweets
Milan design practise Studiopepe has created these sleek, rounded seats and tables for Italian brand Tacchini and called the collection Pastilles after memories of childhood sweets.
The collection builds on Studiopepe’s celebration of 1970s glamour and retro furniture at the studio’s immersive Club Unseen exhibition in Milan earlier this year. In a similar vein of sumptuous shapes and rich colours, the Pastilles range includes a chair, ottoman and two tables with lustrous combinations of shiny metal and richly textured upholstery.
The neat, circular seats have cushions that are wider than their round, metallic bases, creating a stack of contrasting textures. A firm upholstered shell curves round the chair to form the backrest and reaches down to the bottom of the seat cushion, without hiding the shiny base.
The coffee and side tables both have black travertine stone surfaces that sit on top of upholstered leather bodies with metal bases, like the seats. You can choose from any fabric or leather for the upholstery.
