Pulpo - Marelle rug

Pulpo launches rugs with zips

German brand Pulpo has collaborated with prominent rug manufacturer cc-tapis to produce a series of rugs that you can join together with zips, and will show the new pieces at Maison&Objet this week.

Designed by Sacha Walckhoff, creative director of French fashion house Christian Lacroix, the Marelle rugs are made up of four separate pieces with zips running along the edges. You can change the shape of the whole configuration by swapping the pieces around to make irregular shapes, or you can buy the pieces individually.

There are two standard versions; one with dusty tones of sandstone yellow and murky blue, and the other in black and white. Both versions have three rectangular pieces in different sizes and one semi-circle, featuring a combination of patchy shapes and one piece in a pattern of crosses. Each shape is hand-dyed and knotted in Nepal.
