Please Wait To Be Seated - Ahm chair

Please Wait To Be Seated makes stackable steam-bent chair

Danish design brand Please Wait To Be Seated has made a stackable armchair where the front legs, arms and back are all formed from the same piece of steam-bent ash wood.

The front legs reach up to a smooth curve before flattening out to form the arms, which snake their way round the back of the chair. There’s a thin oval piece of wood attached to the frame as a backrest, and the back two legs taper in at the top where they join the frame. There’s a piece of wood that connects each front and back pair of legs and the square seat, which is narrower than the width of legs, sits between them.

The seat comes in upholstered leather and you can choose between natural ash, navy blue, fig purple, ash grey or Indian red for the seat and slender frame. There’s also a version with a cane seat in a natural finish.

Titled Ahm chair, the collection is named after its Copenhagen designer Isabel Ahm and was shown at the Rossana Orlandi gallery in Milan.
