Palma de Alma - Resort lounge chair
Tubular chair sports velvet cushions
Bunched velvet upholstery brings a laid-back edge to this one-armed chair created and produced by Prague design studio Palma de Alma.
Called Resort, the armchair is inspired by the colours of 1990s interiors. The cushions are covered in beige velvet that’s bunched up along the seams, giving the plush upholstery a relaxed aesthetic.
It’s got a white tubular frame with an arching armrest on one side. The frame reaches up in a curve behind the semicircular backrest as well. The slender feet lift the chunky square seat away from the ground.
The Resort collection also includes plastic tables made to look like terrazzo marble. Palma de Alma presented the range in a theatrical installation of velvet curtains and bold typography at Prague’s Designblok festival last month.
