Bethan Laura Wood designs kaleidoscopic furniture for Moroso

Italian brand Moroso has launched a playful range of furniture upholstered in kaleidoscopic textiles created by colour-obsessed British designer Bethan Laura Wood.

The new basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Mexico City inspired Bethan to create the Mono Mania Mexico collection. After seeing the church on her first trip to Mexico, she honed in on the incredible colour and detail she saw in the building’s stained glass windows to inform her designs.

The collection includes daybeds with tubular frames as well as cushions and bolsters all upholstered in Bethan’s jacquard fabrics made in collaboration with Italian textile company Limonata. They feature wavy panels and angular shapes filled with block colours or patterns of tiny stripes and tessellating crosses.

The collection launched last week at the Breakfast Insights event hosted by Clippings at the Moroso showroom, where Bethan spoke about how she arrived at these dazzling designs.
