Moroso - Casa Modernista

Moroso extends Modernista sofa range

Spanish brand Moroso has added to its Modernista sofa collection by London studio Doshi Levien with a two-seater version that’s softer in shape.

The designers are calling the new Casa Modernista sofa the residential version of the original Modernista. It’s got a split down the centre between two plump cushions, giving the sofa a softer look to the original which has one seat pad running across.

Like the rest of the Modernista range, it’s got three buttons that punch along the centre of the back, and one on the side of each arm. The frame is steel and the legs are laser cut and bent with a powder-coated finish. The legs are slender and stand on rounded feet, while the slim arms are padded to round out the overall outline of the sofa. The upholstered fabric covers are removable, unlike the original Modernista.

Casa Modernista was shown in Milan alongside Moroso’s new Chamfer sofa and modular Tape collections. It will be on show alongside Chamfer in Clerkenwell from May 22-24. You can hear more about it from the brand’s design director Concetta Giannangeli at Clippings' exclusive breakfast event and tour at the Moroso showroom.
