Menu launches industrial table lamp

Copenhagen design studio Norm Architects has created a portable table lamp for furniture brand Menu inspired by the shape of metal bollards on ships.

Called Column, the lamp features a slender neck that lifts the thick round shade above a cylindrical body, creating space beneath the shade that breaks up the lamp’s solid silhouette.

The LED bulb gives off a diffused light that creates a warm reflection as it glows down on the bronze anodised aluminium body. It’s got a USB charging point and three dimmer settings.

Norm Architects regularly designs furniture and lighting for Menu, having most recently collaborated on a chair for co-working space The Office Group.
