Lee Broom - Eclipse Lighting collection

Lee Broom launches lunar-inspired lighting collection in Milan

Lee Broom’s Milan launches include a new lunar-inspired lighting collection featuring discs that overlap each other like an eclipse, obscuring and revealing the light as you move around it.

The Eclipse collection uses a mirror-polished stainless steel disc to reflect fragments of a solid acrylic disc of LED light. The two pieces slot into each other at right angles and depending on your vantage point, you can see parts of the light in the steel that either distort or complete the glowing circle.

It’s available as a pendant, table and surface lamp, all exploring with the same concept of intersecting circles.

The Eclipse range is among seven products in four collections that Lee showed in Milan, and all are available to order now. The east London designer is known for his noteworthy installations in Milan, with past exhibitions including a van filled with optical illusions that he parked at strategic locations around the city, and a bar re-created using reclaimed fragments of an English pub. This year's showcase will be titled Observatory and located in a Grade II listed building in the Brera Design District.
