Hayche - WW Armchair

Hayche adds arms to modern Windsor chairs

Hayche, formally known as H Furniture, has added an armchair to its WW collection of modern Windsor furniture.

Colourful metal wires curl out from the underside of the seat and reach up to curved wooden blocks poised on top, which form the back and armrests. The armrests and back don’t touch, lending a lightness to the chair with each wooden piece floating separately. These bars fan outwards from the centre to form the body of the chair, spreading further apart as they reach the tips of the armrests.

The collection already includes a dining chair as well as a bar and counter stool, each of which maintains the lines of a traditional Windsor chair’s fanned, slatted back and saddle seat. In this contemporary version by Mexican design studio Hierve, the slats are made of 5mm powder-coated metal wire.

The chairs are also available in six different bright and bold colourways, which Hayche developed with Brighton branding agency Studio Makgill for the original collection in 2016.

The WW armchair was launched during Clerkenwell Design Week.
