Gandia Blasco - Solanas outdoor furniture collection

Gandia Blasco makes light aluminium outdoor collection

Spanish brand Gandia Blasco has launched a modular collection of outdoor furniture featuring an architectural combination of angular aluminium frames and rounded perforated backs.

The collection’s seating modules, including a chaise longue and deep armchair, have perforated aluminium backs that gently curve round at the corners to cradle the thick foam cushions. The holes lighten the surface of the aluminium and the flat arms extrude out from the top edge of the back. From the side, the armrests and front legs make a clean square outline.

The armrests have a thin topper of Dekton, a UV and scratch resistant material that’s also used for the surfaces of the Solanas tables. The tables’ feet are thin and flat like the seat’s, but they’re angled in towards the centre of the table.

The powder-coated aluminium frames comes in different shades of grey, blue, green and orange, and can be combined with different finishes from the Dekton collection.

Argentinian designer Daniel Germani named the collection after the Solanas beach in Uruguay where he and his father spent summers cooking for people and entertaining outdoors.
