Estudio Persona - Luna lamp
Glowing sphere sits in folded metal stand
An opal glass globe rests in the bent metal base of a minimalist table lamp produced by LA design firm Estudio Persona.
The mouth-blown glass sphere rests in a semi-circular cut-out in the fold of the black metal base. The bend in the metal is soft and slightly rounded on top to contrast with its sharp corners and straight edges.
Called Luna, the table lamp is made to order and the base comes in steel or brass. It was launched as part of the brand’s Segment collection, which includes a side table, mirror and vase. Each piece combines metal with other materials like suede and glass.
Industrial designer Emiliana Gonzalez and conceptual artist Jessie Young founded Estudio Persona and moved to LA in 2014. Both born in Uruguay, the designers apply a brutalist view of their hometown Montevideo to their furniture and product design.
