By Lassen - Lassen Chair

By Lassen's new chair features wing-like arms

Danish furniture brand By Lassen’s new Lassen chair has arms that extend out from the backrest and reach around you like wings.

The back and arms are all made out of the same piece of fully upholstered plywood, making a padded curve for you to lean back into. The black powder-coated steel tube frame provides a stark contrast to the gentle curves of the body, and the back legs lean in towards the seat pad before extending half way up the back.

Danish designer Magnus Sangild created the piece as a tribute to the late architects and brothers Mogens and Flemming Lassen, whose designs make up a large part of By Lassen’s collection. Flemming is known for his work with voluptuous shapes like the Tired Man armchair, while Mogens tended more towards geometric designs such as his popular Kubus collection.

Magnus pulls both of these styles together in the Lassen chair, resulting in a comfortable seat with an elegant profile.

The Lassen chair is available to order now.
