Brintons - Composite carpet collection
Brintons launches opulent carpets inspired by jewellery
British carpet manufacturer Brintons has produced a diverse collection of bold and graphic carpets created by Australian jewellery designer Elke Kramer.
The Composite collection includes ten designs ranging from striking patterns of tessellating geometric shapes to more subdued carpets with muffled, flecked textures. Each one reimagines different elements of the designer’s art deco-inspired jewellery as large-scale, repeating patterns on two-dimensional surfaces.
To create these dazzling carpets, Elke deconstructed her jewellery designs through sketching and painting, picking out features like the pattern on a glittering ring band or the texture of marble and terrazzo resins. Brintons then translated these qualities into wool carpets woven on axminster looms with expressive colour.
You can customise the carpets to fit any shape and Brintons can rework the ten existing designs to suit your project.
Elke has been designing jewellery for over a decade and this is her first carpet design.
