With backgrounds in architecture, industrial design, and fashion design, GABRIEL Kakon and SCOTT Richler, have brought a rich bank of skill, creativity and style to the furniture world since their start, designing exclusively to-the-trade in early 2004. It is, however, in early 2012 that represented a new chapter for the two architect brothers with the launch of the GABRIEL SCOTT line, consisting of a series of black-steel and brass occasional tables, as well as a series of beautifully hand crafted suspended-light fixtures - including the recent WELLES suspended light. This totally modular and customizable light-system, consist of a series of metallic geometric shapes which elegantly come together to create various configurations of organic and sculptural forms. (Also available in wall-sconce format) The newest addition to the studio's line, The HARLOW, continues to evoke the same geometric and sculptural language throughout its various configurations. Mold-blown glass forms are held in place by a series of metallic prongs that join together through a center stem. The asymmetric gathering of each member creates an explosive bouquet of soft light and sharp hardware. The Harlow is also available in single pendant format. "We've re-imagined some of our signature designs as well as created an entirely new palette of products." explains Kakon. "The collection is an elegant line of occasional tables and lighting pieces that share a common expression and evoke a chic interpretation of modern mid-century design with a touch of old-Hollywood glamour." Precisely machined steel and brass members are brought together in an honest expression of their assembly process. Clear, smoked or bronzed glass is used throughout the table series in order to truly appreciate its form and details. More recently, the limited edition production PRONG series, now offers new table base silhouettes with beautifully selected Italian marble tops. "Gabriel and I have been working together for more than a decade creating custom pieces and designing modern spaces for a wide range of clients." explains Richler. "For us, building, designing, and creating is an undying passion. GABRIEL SCOTT gives us a new platform for creative expression with no parameters. We also wanted to find a way to make our designs more accessible to more people." GABRIEL SCOTT occasional tables range in price from $675 to $3,650, the KELLY Chandeliers range from $8,750 to $11,500 and the WELLES suspended light are priced per cube at $750 each. The Harlow pendants start at $2,950, and the Harlow chandeliers start at $9,950. Please see the look-book for more information about individual products. All GABRIEL SCOTT products are handmade at their Montreal studio and are stocked to ship from their Upstate New York warehouse. All light-fixtures are UL listed.
