Former, Industria per l’Arredamento based in Cantù, was born in 1967. In that year, the company, boasting a rich experience in artisan production dating back to the early twentieth century, starts the industrial phase of its business operations, with covered production facilities of about 12,000 m2 inside a total area of over 30,000 m2. Its modular systems embedding manufacturing expertise and technological precision immediately prove to be successful and highly appreciated for their premium quality standard combined with the most innovative design. Its historical models, such as “Euro”, “Zeronove” and “Plinto” have thus decisively marked the map of aesthetic taste in interior design and furnishing. This innovative power has then further been reinforced by “Set System” that has introduced a completely new concept in home interior design, featuring high flexibility and an almost unlimited range of compositions suitable to any architectural space and installation without being affected by structural limits. App, Former’s latest wardrobe system designed by Pinuccio Borgonovo, entirely follows this philosophy strongly focusing on innovation. App is the acronym of Architectural Partitions Project, which clearly highlights the underlying concept of this system that maintains the traditional function of the wardrobe while providing it a purely architectural and aesthetic dimension enriching the home interior space. Teca day and Teca night, with a case entirely in crystal glass, and Cell, a walk-in closet, complete the functional and stylistic range of the system. This year Former wants to give additional strength to its successful system of modular elements, a pioneer in its kind when introduced in the recent past. With Plinto 1.6, the very popular base unit and wall unit come back into the spotlight. In general, Former’s current production consists of modular systems for the day area, with equipped wall systems and sideboards, tables and chairs, and for the night area, including beds, bed systems, dressers, bedside tables, wardrobes, walk-in closets and accessories, small armchairs and mirrors. All of this is the work of various and prestigious designers, such as Roberto Lazzeroni, Claesson Koivi- sto Rune, Marzia and Leonardo Dainelli, Piva and Associates, Ricardo Bello Dias, in addition to the above-mentioned designer Pinuccio Borgonovo, witnessing the rich variety of important collaborations Former boasts within the design world that further reinforce its identity.
